This one goes out to BowlingBallOut who posted a question about a sticky throttle on his Saturn. It was a great question so I decided to make this video in response to it. There are many different configurations of throttle assemblies but for the most part if you have a throttle that is sticking you might be able to fix it using the procedures in this video. I am aware you may not able to purchase spray throttle cleaner in some states now but I’m sure they have some alternative available at your local parts store.

    Its the throttle …
Its the throttle shaft that sticks. Throttle shafts have bearings and if the bearings wear the shaft becomes loose..and can cause a vacuum leak. The throttle shaft is most important to complete closing and opening of the throttle plate. Throttle plates are no more than a piece of circular tin cut to fit the venturi. Throttle plates can be modified by means of air bleeds .Tight fitting throttle shafts must rotate freely. The shafts become varnished up and this is the area of most concerns.
